At the Honda Center in Orange County, California, concerts, games, and other large events bring together staff, vendors, and guests with different communication needs. Titan HST’s case study describes how its two-way communication and incident-reporting platform supports the arena, home of the Anaheim Ducks.

The communication challenge

The case study identifies three priorities for the 650,000-square-foot venue:

  • Unify communication between staff and vendors across the property.
  • Add another layer of security communication for games, concerts, and other events.
  • Bridge language barriers and share information when networks are crowded or unavailable.

Three ways to connect the venue

See Something, Say Something

Staff and guests can scan a QR code to begin enrolling in the app and report incidents as they happen. The workflow connects them with security personnel so they can share details about a situation.

Mass broadcast messaging

The Honda Center can share facility information, updates, and incident messages with staff, vendors, and guests through multiple channels. The case study lists the mobile app, web portal, text messages, email, automated calls, signage, and social media.

Custom integrations

The case study describes connections with systems already used at the venue, allowing incident information to be shared and contact information to be synchronized across platforms. The aim is to bring existing systems into the communication workflow.

Technology highlighted in the case study

  • Mesh networking: described as a way to send and receive incident information when conventional networks are down or congested.
  • Augmented reality: described as helping locate people requesting assistance in crowds and low- or zero-visibility situations.
  • Real-time language translation: the case study describes automatic translation of message content into 22 languages.

Benefits for staff and guests

The case study highlights faster location of people requesting help, delivery of important messages through multiple redundant channels, and shared information across systems. Together, these capabilities support a more coordinated picture of what is happening around the venue.
